This isn't traditional PT.
It's built for real life.
Performance-driven rehab for mountain athletes, lifters, and anyone tired of being told to just rest it. 1-on-1 sessions with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — every visit, every time.
Alpine
Rehab is the floor.
The summit is the goal.
Ridgeline is a performance-driven physical therapy practice for active people who want to stay active — mountain athletes, lifters, CrossFitters, and anyone tired of being told to just rest it. Our mission is to prevent injury, overcome it when it happens, and keep you moving through the things you love for life.
Before opening Ridgeline, I spent years as a physical therapist with U.S. Army Special Forces, treating elite soldiers in environments where "mostly recovered" wasn't an option and the cost of a half-finished rehab was real. That standard — clinical precision, performance-first, no shortcuts — is what I bring to every session here.
"Just rest it" isn't an option. We'll find a way to keep you moving while we work around your limitations until you're back at full capacity — whether that's a local trail loop, a deadlift PR, or a 50-mile objective. Pain-free is step one. Strong, mobile, and capable enough to keep doing this stuff in 30 years is the real finish line.
Special Ops background
Trained as a Doctor of Physical Therapy with U.S. Army Special Forces. The standard there is precision, performance, and no shortcuts. That's the standard you get here.
1-on-1, every session
You're not just a number here. You get my full attention and a plan built for you — a full hour with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every single visit. No techs, no aides, no group rehab.
Built for real life
Whether you're on the trails, in the gym, or chasing your next adventure, we build a plan that fits your life — and the goals that matter to you, not just an insurance company's billing codes.
Built for active people who want to stay active.
You don't have to settle for pain or limitations. Whether you're in the mountains, at the rack, or at the rig — let's get you back to doing what you love.
Trail & Ultra Runners
Training for a 50K, a hundred-miler, or just your Sunday single-track loop. We keep your knees, hips, and Achilles handling the load.
Climbers & Mountaineers
Sport, trad, alpine, ice. Shoulders, elbows, fingers, lower back — we treat the chain, not just the pain.
Skiers & Splitboarders
Resort, backcountry, ski-mo, AT. ACLs, post-op returns, and the quad strength to handle 4,000-foot days.
Mountain Bikers
Enduro, XC, bikepacking. Knees, hips, and low backs that handle the chatter — plus the crashes we'd rather you didn't have.
Thru-Hikers & Backpackers
PCT prep, AT recovery, weekend objectives with a heavy pack. Feet, knees, and the connective-tissue resilience to go the distance.
Lifters & CrossFitters
Powerlifting, Olympic lifting, CrossFit, anyone moving heavy weight. Knees, low backs, shoulders, elbows — keep training while we fix what's flaring up.
Golfers
Weekend foursomes to single-digit handicaps. Low backs, hips, and shoulders that take a beating from thousands of one-sided swings — we treat the asymmetries that wreck rotation and distance.
Combat & MMA Athletes
Jiu-jitsu, MMA, boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai. Necks, shoulders, knees, hips — the joints that take the most abuse. Keep training on the mat while we work around the wreckage.
Also: high school & youth sports athletes.
Soccer, lacrosse, football, baseball, gymnastics, dance — we work with the athlete and the parent, and we coordinate with coaches when it helps. Special attention to growth-plate and post-op (ACL, OS-D) considerations.
Injuries we specialize in
Whether it's a fresh sprain from last weekend's scramble or something that's been lingering since last season, our one-on-one approach is built to reduce pain, restore movement, and build long-term strength.
Knee Pain
Pain with running, descending, or daily activity. Runner's knee, patellar tendonitis, meniscus irritation.
Low Back Pain
Stiffness or pain with lifting, sitting, or carrying a pack. Includes disc-related pain and sciatica.
Shoulder Pain
Pain with reaching, overhead pulling, or climbing. Rotator cuff, impingement, and climbing-related injuries.
Sciatica
Radiating pain, numbness, or tingling down the leg. Often related to nerve irritation in the low back.
Hip Pain
Pain with movement, long days on your feet, or prolonged sitting. Often tied to mobility or muscle imbalance.
Elbow Pain
Pain with gripping, lifting, or climbing. Includes climber's elbow, tennis elbow, and golfer's elbow.
Hamstring Tendinosis
Pain or tightness in the back of the thigh with running or lifting. Includes strains and tendon irritation.
Ankle Sprains
Rolled ankles, chronic instability, and post-sprain weakness. Full strength and confidence before heading back to the trail.
Four stops on the way up.
No confusion, no surprise bills, no guesswork. Here's exactly what the route looks like.
Free Discovery Call
A 15-minute phone call to hear what's going on, answer your questions, and see if we're the right fit — no pressure, no pitch.
Performance Evaluation
A 90-minute deep dive: movement screen, strength testing, and a clear diagnosis of what's driving your pain.
Your Custom Plan
Hands-on treatment, targeted strength work, and a roadmap built around your goals — whether that's a PR, an FKT, or pain-free mornings.
Back to the Mountains
Objective milestones tell you when you're truly ready. Then we build the coaching plan to keep you there for good.
Treatments & modalities
Every plan is built around you, but these are the tools we reach for most.
Strength-Based Rehab
Progressive loading with barbells, dumbbells, sleds, and sport-specific drills — dosed for your stage of recovery.
Manual Therapy
Hands-on joint mobilization and soft-tissue work to reset restricted movement and quiet down angry tissue.
Dry Needling
Thin monofilament needles used to release trigger points and restore normal muscle function when manual work isn't enough.
Blood Flow Restriction (BFR)
Safely build strength and muscle with light loads — a game-changer for post-op patients who can't load heavy yet.
Gait & Movement Analysis
Powered by MotionRx — dual-plane AI pose tracking, joint-by-joint measurement, and an 8-phase gait breakdown to find the mechanics driving your pain.
Return-to-Sport Testing
Objective strength, power, and Limb Symmetry Index benchmarks — so you know, not guess, that you're ready for the objective.
We don't guess.
We measure.
Most clinics evaluate movement by eye. We use MotionRx — our clinical motion analysis platform — to quantify exactly how you move, joint by joint, frame by frame, against published clinical norms. You walk away with a clinical-grade report you can keep, share, and track over time.
Your clinical-grade report — measured & explained
Powered by MotionRx — clinical motion analysis platform built in-house.
Dual-plane AI pose tracking
Phone-shot video — lateral and posterior — turned into skeleton-overlay analysis with frame-accurate biomechanics. No motion-capture lab required.
8-phase gait breakdown
Frame-accurate detection of every gait phase — from initial contact through late swing. We see what the eye misses at running speed.
Joint-by-joint measurement
Hip flexion, knee flexion, ankle dorsiflexion, trunk lean, pelvic drop — every angle quantified and benchmarked against published clinical norms.
Limb Symmetry Index
Bilateral comparison reveals left-vs-right imbalances that drive injuries — the asymmetries you can't feel until they hurt.
AI clinical narrative
Translates raw biomechanical data into specific, actionable findings and prioritized recommendations — no spreadsheet decoding required.
A report you can keep
A clinical-grade PDF summarizing your baseline, asymmetries, and plan. Track progress, share with your coach, or compare side-by-side after each retest.
Included in your Performance Evaluation and follow-up sessions — no separate cost.
Out-of-network. By design.
The most common question we get: "Are you in-network?" The honest answer — and why we built it this way.
Why we don't take insurance
To break even on insurance reimbursement, most in-network PT clinics have to see three or four patients per hour — bouncing between treatment tables, leaving exercises to a tech. That math doesn't work for getting you back to your sport.
By being out-of-network, we can give you a full hour of one-on-one care with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. The result: people typically need fewer total sessions to recover, so the net cost ends up comparable to in-network care once you factor in your copays, time, and outcomes.
We provide a superbill after each session that you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan; we make no guarantees, but many of our patients see a meaningful chunk reimbursed.
Straightforward pricing.
No surprise bills.
Out-of-network by design — so your care plan is built around you, not your insurance company's quota. Superbills provided on request for possible reimbursement.

Dr. Brian Calandra, PT, DPT
Before opening Ridgeline, I spent years as a physical therapist with U.S. Army Special Forces — treating elite soldiers in environments where the cost of a half-finished rehab was real. That experience shapes how I work now: clinical precision, performance-first, no shortcuts.
Now I work with active people who want to stay active — mountain athletes, lifters, CrossFitters, and anyone tired of being told to just rest it. Whether you're chasing a 50K, a deadlift PR, or just want to keep up with your kids on a hike, we'll build the plan that fits your life.
Hear from our athletes
Real results from real mountain athletes who came in hurting and left ready to get after it again.
After two years of being told to just "stop running" for my knee, I found Ridgeline. Twelve weeks later I finished my first 50K pain-free. The difference was night and day.
I had ACL reconstruction and my surgeon cleared me for skiing, but I wasn't ready. Ridgeline's return-to-sport testing gave me the confidence to click back in. I'm skiing stronger than I was before the injury.
My low back was wrecking my deadlifts and every PT I saw told me to stop pulling heavy. Ridgeline figured out what was actually causing it, kept me lifting through rehab, and I hit a 30-pound PR ten weeks later. Worth every penny.
FAQs
What can I expect during my rehab sessions?
Every session is hands-on from the moment you walk in. You'll work one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — no techs, no aides, no being handed off between clients. We pair guided exercise in a safe environment with manual therapy, all tailored in real time to what your body needs that day.
Expect work on the fundamentals that actually move the needle: mobility, range of motion, strength, core stability, and movement mechanics. Every rep has a reason, and everything is built around your specific diagnosis and goals.
But this isn't just about getting you pain-free. Pain-free is step one. Our real goal is to get you back to your sport performing better than you were before the injury — because why stop when there's still ceiling to hit?
Why is Ridgeline better than other clinics?
You've probably heard a provider say "don't do it if it hurts" — about running, lifting, or the sport you love. As mountain athletes ourselves, we don't accept that answer. Your goal is to get back to the thing that makes you you, and we'll find a way to keep you moving while we work around your limitations until you're back at full strength.
You'll work one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy every session, the entire session. No aides, no assistants, no group rehab. That lets us modify your treatment in real time, optimize recovery, and get you back faster.
We specialize in wellness and longevity, not just injury care. Getting your knee to stop hurting is the start — being strong, mobile, and capable enough to climb, ski, and run in the mountains decades from now is the real win. Strength, mobility, balance, power, and endurance are all fundamentals of a healthy body, and we help you build every one of them.
Do you take insurance?
We're an out-of-network cash-based clinic. That means you pay at the time of service and we give you a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Why? Because it lets us give you a full hour of 1-on-1 care instead of 15 minutes between three patients.
Do I need a referral?
In most states, no. Direct access allows you to see a physical therapist without a physician's referral. We'll confirm your state's specifics when you book.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are currently held at CrossFit Conifer and select partner gyms in the area. The advantage: you rehab in the same kind of environment you'll be performing in — real barbells, sleds, and space to actually move. As we grow, we may open a dedicated facility, but the partner-gym setup gives us all the equipment we need to do the work right.
What is the free discovery call?
A 15-minute phone call with one of our PTs. You tell us what's going on, we answer your questions, and we both decide if we're the right fit. No cost, no pressure, no sales pitch.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Athletic clothes you can move in, any imaging reports (X-ray, MRI) you have, and a list of what you're currently doing for training. That's it.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients see meaningful change in 4–8 sessions, but the honest answer is: it depends on the issue, your goals, and how long it's been going on. You'll get a clear plan after your evaluation.
I'm not a competitive athlete. Is this for me?
Yes. We work with mountain athletes, lifters, and CrossFitters, but we also work with active people who just want to stay capable — climbing 14ers, keeping up with your kids, or feeling strong in your body. If you move and you don't want to stop, you belong here.
